Wallpaper is what we are known for. Most painting companies in the Upstate will quote you for paint and quietly pass on the paper — hanging it well is a different trade, and a bad job shows from across the room.
Designer and boutique papers, hand-painted murals, grasscloth and natural fibres, textured and embossed paper, metallic and foil, traditional pre-pasted rolls, and peel-and-stick. Ceilings, accent walls, powder rooms, stair walls, closets and niches — including the awkward ones.
A repeat that drifts a quarter inch per drop is invisible on roll two and obvious by roll six. We plan the layout before the first strip goes up: where the pattern breaks, which corner takes the mismatch, how the repeat lands at eye level and above the door. On a mural we dry-lay the panels first.
Paper telegraphs everything underneath it. We skim and sand the wall flat, prime with the right sealer for the substrate and the paper, and let it cure. Skipping primer is the single most common reason paper bubbles, or takes the drywall face with it when it eventually comes off.
